Why Students procrastinate...
Students usually procrastinate due to lack of time management. After students become overwhelmed with tasks they're more likely to fail to complete assignments because of fruststration. After putting social activities before school assignments students tend to rearrange due dates for school work or might even fail to turn in assignments.
Discipline yourself to use time wisely in order to overcome procrastination...
If time is used wisely it will help overcome procrastination because school work would be well organized. This could be done by keeping a planner which would include homework and its due dates. If you learn to use your time wisely and put school work before your social life you are guaranteed to have a bright and successful future.

If I could change education, I would...
If I was able to change education, I would try to make lessons fun so that students would be entertained by what they are being taught. This would change the way students view education. Instead of seeing education as boring they would be excited when learning new information. This would probably decrease the number of students being treated or diagnosed with ADHD. The number of students "with" ADHD would decrease since students wouldn't have to be medicated in order to keep obtain attention.

Lesson Planning 101
This week's blog is about making lesson plans for my second grade class. Here is a link to the TEKS overview for Grade 2.
These are three different activities for second graders:
1. (2.1A) Place Value Activity- Use a T chart with one side labeled tens and the other labeled ones, then give each individual student a "fun sized" bag of M&Ms. Finally, have the students place different amounts of M&Ms on each side of the chart then have them record their answers on a separate sheet of paper.
2.(7A)Landforms Activity- Arrange groups of four to five students in each group. Give each individual group "Play Dough" and have them build different landforms.
3.(1) Sentence Features- Have students evaluate sentences. Print each sentences in an large font size, then laminate each of them so students are able to correct the mistakes with dry erase board markers. Make sure that check for mistakes such as forgetting the capitalization of the first word ending punctuation, commas, or quotation marks wherever they are needed.
